Adoption records
Westminster City Council holds records of adoptions arranged by Westminster Children’s Services from 1968 to the present day. It also holds the adoption records of a defunct adoption agency, the National Children Adoption Association (NCAA), which was situated in Knightsbridge until its closure in 1978. Please note that although the NCAA arranged adoptions from the early 1900s, damage caused by the Second World War means we hold very few records pre-1941.
If you are an adopted person / counsellor or birth parent or other relative of an adopted person please telephone 020 7641 4080 for further information.
We also provide a counselling service to adults who were looked after by the City of Westminster and counselling will be carried out by the Looked After team on 020 7641 4142 or 4143. For more information about this service please read our Birth records counselling section.
