Taxicards enable people with serious mobility needs to travel in black cabs at reduced fares.
The scheme is managed by London Councils on behalf of Westminster City Council.
Our Taxicard criteria has changed. You automatically qualify for a Taxicard if you:
You may also qualify for a Taxicard if you have a permanent disability or health condition that makes using public transport very difficult or impossible. You will need to demonstrate that you are on a lower income before your application will be assessed.
To apply, contact London Councils:
Tel: 0845 415 4156 or 020 7934 9791
Email: taxicard@londoncouncils.gov.uk
If you do not qualify for a Taxicard, there are lots of other ways to travel. Please see these other transport options to help you make other arrangements.
If you need help to complete your form, please ask a friend or family member. You can also get help from these organisations:
• Age UK Westminster, Tel: 020 3004 5610, email: enquiries@acwestminster.org.uk
• Advocate for Mental Health, Tel: 020 8969 3000, email: info@afmh.org.uk
Many people have told us they use their Taxicard to get to hospital or medical appointments. Whilst you can use your Taxicard journeys as you wish, the service was not intended for this purpose as there are other options available.
