Silver Sunday
Celebrate Silver Sunday, a national day for older people
Sunday 7th October saw the first ever Silver Sunday, an exciting new day for older people to take part in free activities and events. Silver Sunday celebrates your contribution to your community and aimes to help you try new things, keep active, meet your neighbours and overcome loneliness.
The day was piloted in Westminster with the hope that other areas of the UK will organise similar events in the future.
"This is a special day for older people to get involved in community events and activities to bring back some of the traditional community spirit. It's also a small thank you for your contribution to society." Joanna Lumley
See the official Silver Sunday website for more information.
