Home Care Services
If you are having difficulty remaining independent at home, you may be able to get support to help you, including:
- helping you to dress
- help to get in and out of bed
- receive home meals
- bathing
- shopping
- one-off intensive cleaning in some circumstances
- specialist dementia home care in some circumstances.
Home care services are usually provided by external agencies on our behalf. They provide care between 7am and 9pm each day and may be able to provide carers who speak specific languages.
How do I get home care?
You will need to have an assessment of your needs. This assessment is free of charge.

Do I have to pay?
You will be assessed to pay for the home care service, and the amount you pay will be based on your income and savings after all relevant factors have been taken into account.

I would prefer to arrange my own care
If you are entitled to receive care, you may prefer to receive direct payments to pay for your own care rather than use the care provided by social services.

Alternatively, you can contact care agencies directly yourself.
