Help for severe mental health problems

The council arranges services for people with severe or long-term mental health problems to help them live as independently as possible. These services are provided following an assessment by Central and North West London Mental Health Trust, and can be contacted at the details below:

These services are provided following an assessment, which involves personalisation. This means you will be offered an individual assessment of your needs and depending on that level of need, we can arrange the following services:

  • Day services offering drop-in, activity groups and work projects
  • Accommodation with different levels of support
  • Help with getting a place in hospital during mental health crises
  • Community resources as an alternative to hospital
  • Help for people in hospital to return to the community
  • Help with travel
  • Services for homeless people with mental health problems through our Joint Homelessness Team (based at the Soho Centre for Health and Care)
  • An Appropriate Adult service for people with mental health problems who are held at a police station in the City of Westminster
  • Mental Health assessments for admission to hospital
