For people with common mental health problems, mental health services are provided at your local GP surgery and in the community:

Counselling services
For help with short term emotional and psychological problems, such as coping with the pain of bereavement, you may be referred to a counselor, who will provide a short course of counseling therapy to help you be able to move through the period of difficulty and continue with your life. Please see your GP for referral to the GP Counselling Service

Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)
IAPT aims to help to adults experiencing problems with stress, anxiety and depression. IAPT offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychological assessment and information on other services. Access is through self or GP referral.

Camden, City, Islington & Westminster Bereavement Service
A service for people who may have lost a baby in pregnancy or have experienced the death of a partner, parent, lover, child, relation or colleague in many differing circumstances. Very often people may experience a loss or life event that brings up old memories or feelings from earlier bereavements.
