Visit your local community hub for a range of daily activities and services.

• Queen’s Park and Harrow Road.
Who can use the new hubs?
They are for Westminster residents aged 50 plus.
What activities will there be?
• leisure activities such as yoga, walking, gardening, computer classes
• advice sessions on health, finances, safety and a range of other topics
• general support
• information and advice sessions - for benefits advice etc
• one off activities and events -such as tea dances, older peoples day events, trips and so on.
We want the hubs to offer services that you want, so come along and tell us what you're interested in.

Other services
Outreach and befriending service
An outreach service is being offered to older people in Wetsminster, to help put them in touch with services and activities that will assist them to stay independent at home. If a befriending service would help, this can be offered as well. The outreach team will work closely with the hubs so people can access these services more easily.
The service is being offered by Octavia Foundation and Octavia Housing

Information and Advice
Age Concern Westminster offer an information and advice service on a range of different issues to all older people in Westminster, including benefit advice, will making, information on care and information for those who aren't eligible for assistance from social servcies. They have surgeries at their office in Praed Street W2 as well as at the hubs. You can ring them for advice and they will also do home visits if you are unable to get out of your home.

Teleconferencing service
A new service for those who cannot get out of their homes to keep in touch with others. This telephone service offers group activities over the phone, by linking you up with others for a chat on a variety of subjects, chosen by you! You will take part in a phone call with others to talk about issues that interest you, such as music, a discussion on current affairs, a discussion in a particular language, or other subjects that may be of interest. The service is managed by a coordinator and there is no charge to you.
