Westminster Drugs and Alcohol Action Team
Westminster Drugs and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) is a high-level, strategic partnership composed of members from the Primary Care Trust, London Probation Area, Metropolitan Police Service and the Council (Housing, Social Services, Community and Disorder Reduction Partnership, and Rough Sleepers Strategy).
The partnership is responsible for overseeing the implementation of a strategic plan with the following key themes:
- Reducing the supply of illegal drugs
- Preventing young people from becoming drug misusers
- Reducing drug-related crime
- Reducing the use of drugs through increased participation in treatment programmes
At a local level, the DAAT Team delivers the strategic plans and priorities as directed by the high-level, multi-agency DAAT. The DAAT oversees the commissioning of all treatment services, including those that sit within the Drugs Intervention Programmed (DIP), and actively monitors and reports on performance and communicates with stakeholders.
