Schools Recycling
What can we recycle at school?

All Westminster schools get a free recycling service. You can recycle:
- paper & card
- plastic bottles, pots, tubs & trays
- drink cans & food tins
- glass bottles & jars
- batteries
- mixed textiles, clothes and shoes to raise funds for the school
- fruit and vegetable scraps using a composter/wormery
How does it work?
A recycling officer will visit the school and help find the best recycling scheme for the school. We can then provide some of the following, all free of charge:
- mixed recycling bags
- mixed recycling bins - weekly or twice-weekly collection
- paper recycling bins - for schools that produce lots of paper waste
- battery bank - collection on request
Schools can also buy discounted composting bins from £14, or set up a textiles recycling scheme to raise funds for the school.
How can we let pupils and staff know about recycling?
We can visit the schools and give an assembly or work with students and staff with their own campaigns; simply contact the recycling team.
Fabulous activities, posters and stickers are available from Recycle Now.
