How to recycle on the go

recycling on the go

Recycle on the go - it's easy!

There are hundreds of green and black litter bins across Westminster, with one end for recycling and one for rubbish.

You can recycle the following using the green end:

  • newspapers, magazines and card;
  • plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays;
  • drinks cans and tins;
  • glass bottles and jars; and
  • Cartons e.g. tetra pak

Litter put in the black end is incinerated so use the black end for food scraps,coffee cups, greasy/dirty paper and plastic packaging.

2,400 tonnes recycling were collected last year from Westminster's litter recycling bins alone, helping the environment and saving Council Tax Payers' money.
