Household waste recycling centres

Westminster residents can take a large range of household items for reuse or recycling to the
Reuse or Recycling Centres in Smugglers Way, SW18 or by car only to Cringle Dock Battersea, SW8. Details on what you can take and how to get there are below.
There are no Household Waste Reuse and Recycling Centres located within Westminster.
Western Riverside Transfer Station
Smugglers Way, Wandsworth. Please note this location is changed slightly from mid-August 2011 until Spring 2012 due to refurbishment. See the new location.
Open 9am to 4pm Monday - Friday, 8am to 6pm Saturday, 8am to 5pm Sunday. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Access by foot, car or bicycle.

Cringle Dock Transfer Station
Cringle Street, Battersea SW8 5BX
Opening Hours: 24 hours a day (closed from 10pm Christmas Eve to 6am Boxing Day). Access by car only.
Items accepted:
- Audio visual equipment
- Batteries (lead acid, dry cell and rechargeable)
- Engine oil
- Fluorescent tubes
- Fridges and freezers
- Gas bottles
- Glass bottles and jars
- Green waste
- Light bulbs (including energy saving bulbs)
- Paper and card
- Rubble
- Scrap metal
- Small electrical items
- Textiles
- Toner cartridges

Alternatively you can also visit the mobile recycling centre in Pimlico, which accepts small electrical appliances, books and more.
