Buskers

Buskers are part of London's culture. However, if they are playing outside your home or work building at an unreasonable noise level or time, they can cause annoyance.

If you have complained about a busker, a member of the noise team will visit to assess whether we can serve a notice. If a notice is served, we can try and move the busker away from their pitch. Sometimes, if may be necessary to call for police support in certain circumstances.

During the Summer months we carry out regular pro - active busker patrols with the Metropolitan Police Service and the Westminster Wardens (resourses permitting) of the West End. This year (2011) over 20 notices were served and many more buskers were given advice during these multi agency operations.
