Westminster City Council continuously strives to improve our urban environment.

Emissions from transport and buildings adversely affect air quality.  Noise from the same sources and human activity can cause annoyance and stress.  Water is an essential medium  for life on earth and yet it is easily polluted.  Land has suffered in the past from contamination by industrial and commercial use and has to be remediated where the opportunity arises.

Westminster City Council and many other organisations have responsibilities to control all forms of pollution.  The Crossrail and Environmental Sciences Team in partnership with other services strive to create a clean and green city for all of us to enjoy and thrive in.
