UDP Saved Policies 2010
The Secretary of State has issued the council with a Direction advising which policies are saved from the 24th January 2010, and which are not. Those policies that are not saved cease to form part of the statutory Development Plan for the City.
UDP Saved Policy Direction January 2010
All policies contained in the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) are saved for three years after adoption by virtue of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 - Schedule 8 paragraph 1 (2) (a). Since the Council's UDP was adopted on the 24th January 2007, all of its policies were automatically 'saved' until the 24th January 2010. The Council applied to further save the policies in its UDP in June 2009.
A report on the saved policy application (giving details of the policies which Council officers considered should be saved after 24 January 2010) was considered by the Planning (Planning Briefs and LDF) Sub-Committee on the 1st June 2009, and was approved by the Cabinet Member for Built Environment, Councillor Davis DL.
