Unitary Development Plan (UDP)

Westminster's Unitary Development Plan (UDP) was approved by Full Council on the 24th January 2007, and parts of it were ‘saved’ by the Secretary of State on the 24th January 2010. 

The UDP is now made up of those policies that were ‘saved’.  The full decision and list of saved policies can be downloaded here:

 

Adoption of Core Strategy and UDP

The adoption of the Core Strategy on the 26th January 2011 has resulted in the deletion of further UDP policies. These deleted policies are set out in Appendix 5 of the Core Strategy.

Interim Implementation of the Affordable Housing Policy

This note sets out how the Council will apply affordable housing policy in the period between adoption of the City of Westminster Core Strategy (26th January 2011) and the adoption of the City Management Plan (anticipated mid 2012). It replaces the earlier version published during the Core Strategy EIP.

Annual Update to the Residential Unit Sum used in Financial Contributions in Lieu of Affordable Housing contained in the Adopted UDP (2007)

Effective from April 2011

For 2011/12 the 'per unit sum' figure is £195,000 (and £260,000 for the designated higher value areas).

The UDP will be replaced by the a Local Development Framework (LDF) under the planning system introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
