Property History information
The Council maintains statutory records of planning applications and decisions which in some cases date back forty or fifty years. These records are available for viewing as follows:
Online
Our online search is a good starting point when carrying out research and provides;
- Details of planning applications dating from 1990 (older in some cases).
- Application forms, drawings and decision notices for planning applications decided since May 2000.
Microfiche
Decision Notices issued before May 2000 are kept on microfiche. Please note that microfiche records only show decision notices and planning application forms but do not include drawings.
- You can view microfiche at City Hall. Please order microfiche online at least 24 hours in advance so we can ensure the microfiche are available on your arrival.
- Alternatively, if you wish to have documents sent to you please email servicesupport@westminster.gov.uk. Please allow between 5-10 working days and note that charges will apply.
Please contact districtsurveyors@westminster.gov.uk to view structural plans or for copies of Building Regulations consents, or completion certificates.
Case Files
Case or TP files (Town Planning) contain application forms, decision notices, drawings and correspondence relating to a property. These are useful if you are carrying out detailed investigations.
Please email us to request case files giving as much information as possible about your requirements. Please allow 10 days for retrieval as these files are stored offsite. We will contact you once files are available for viewing.
Please note charges will apply for copying documents.
