Estate Agents Boards
The proliferation of estate agents boards can have a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of conservation areas. The council can therefore apply to the Secretary of State for a 'Regulation 7 Direction' to be used to control the display of such estate agents boards and prevent the build up of visual clutter.
The Council has renewed and extended its Regulation 7 Directions and the proposal has been agreed by the Secretary of State. The new Direction came into force on 14th May 2010 and applies for a period of 15 years. The Council's leaflet - Boardwatch: A Guide to the Design and Display of Estate Agents Boards- gives further information.
