Examination in Public

The Secretary of State appointed Jill Kingaby BSc (Econ) MSc MRTPI, of the Planning Inspectorate, to conduct the Examination into the compliance and soundness of the Core Strategy.  The examination was held between 26th July and 5th August 2010.

Following the Examination in Public, the City Council consulted on a schedule of amendments with those who submitted at Publication Draft stage.  This consultation closed at 5pm, Wednesday 15th September 2010.  All responses were forwarded to the Inspector.  The Inspector will then consider any responses to this consultation and all other material relevant to the examination, and prepare her binding report on the soundness of the Core Strategy.  Once the binding report has been sent to the City Council, the examination is closed. The Inspector's finalised binding report is anticipated in November 2010.

Robert Young has been appointed as the Programme Officer for the Examination.  He is responsible for assisting the Inspector with all aspects of the Examination administration.  He is independent of the council, and works directly to the inspector.  If you have any queries regarding the Examination, please contact him at (020) 7641 2457, ryoung@westminster.gov.uk or Programme Officer c/o City Planning, 11th Floor, Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6QP.  Please note that Robert works for a number of local authorities and will not always reply immediately.
