Draft City Management Plan Public Consultation
Westminster City Council is currently consulting on the Draft City Management Plan (CMP). The detailed policies in this plan will support and add to the Core Strategy, which the City Council adopted in January 2011. Once adopted, the policies in the Core Strategy and City Management Plan will replace all of the current Unitary Development Plan.
The consultation on the draft CMP will run until 23rd March 2012. All consultation responses on the document must be received by this date. It is very important that you provide any comments you may have at this stage, as there are limited opportunities to change the document at the next, formal stages.
We would be grateful for an electronic copy of your comments, preferably in Word, with references to appropriate policy numbers or paragraph numbers included in your response. If you email us, we do not require separate hard copies of your response.

This is an informal consultation, and is the last of three informal consultation stages. The previous two stages, comprising workshops and the production of a policy options document are detailed below.
The National Planning Policy Framework
You may be aware that the government is undertaking significant changes to the planning system. Because of these changes we may not continue to develop the CMP as a separate document. Instead, once the government has made changes to the relevant laws, we may include the CMP policies in the Core Strategy. Technically, this will be a revision to the Core Strategy, rather than a new CMP, but the policies we take forward will be the same regardless of whether they are in the Core Strategy or a separate CMP document. CMP Policy Options Consultation
The City Council undertook an informal public consultation on the range of approaches for the CMP at the beginning of 2011, ending in March. The policy options document is available below.
CMP Consultation Workshops
The City Council held an extensive series of public consultation workshops in the Summer of 2009, as a way to generate debate and gain input into shaping the range of policies, which would then become the CMP Policy Options Document. The minutes, briefing notes and audio recordings from the workshops are available here.
Formal notification of intention to produce CMP
In October 2008 we invited you to let us know what you would like to see in the CMP, and whether you would like to be included in the CMP workshops mentioned above.
