PERSONAL SEARCHES IN WESTMINSTER

The Government has decided to revoke the statutory fee of £22 for personal searches of the local land charges register.  This will apply from 17 August 2010.

At Westminster Local Land Charges customers can now either:

[a]  Request the Council (as previously) to provide a personal search service in which we will collate and print a search result for customers upon payment of £22.00

or

[b] Inspect the register of Local Land Charges free of charge using a screen provided in the Local Land Charges Office situated on 15th floor - City Hall.  A charge will be made if customers require Council officers to assist in accessing the search information.

In both cases customers will need to book an appointment through the Local Land Charges Office by phoning 0207 641 2513
