We have reviewed our current requirements for validating planning and related applications and are proposing revisions in response to new and amended regulations, policies and guidance at national, regional and local level.
These local validation requirements, along with Central Government’s compulsory validation requirements, indicate the information needed to allow the City Council to begin the process of determining planning or related applications.
Some new requirements are being proposed. These include the need to submit a Crime Prevention Strategy where proposals are likely to have an impact on crime and disorder, a Retail Marketing Statement where developments results in loss of a shop, a Construction Management Plan where substantial demolition or excavation works are proposed and a Viability Report where failure to make the necessary policy compliant provisions or payments is being justified on viability grounds.
Following a recent consultation the proposed changes will now be subject to a further review before being formally adopted.
