Westbourne Green Public Open Space won its first Green Flag in 2011.
Who manages Westbourne Green Public Open Space?
The open space is managed by the City of Westminster's Parks Service.
Location:
Westbourne Green P.O.S. is located between the Harrow Road and the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal. Please scroll down for a location map at the bottom of the page.
Tube:
The Nearest tube station is Royal Oak on the Hammersmith and City Line.
Buses:
The 18 bus route runs along Harrow Road and the open space can be accessed at a number of points from the Harrow Road
Facilities:
The site is a large open space but does have a number of features as follows:
1. Two playgrounds - toddlers (3 to 7 years) located next to the school and a junior playground (5 to 11 years) located on the area adjacent to the Harrow Road.
2. There is a wildflower meadow located on the section adjacent to the Harrow Road.
3. There is an "exercise trail" around the central grass area on the area next to the Harrow Road.

Playground Equipment - Inspection and Maintenance

History:
The open space dates from about 1974 when the area it now covers was the site compound for the building of the A40 Westway and the Marylebone Fly-over. Once these works were complete the area was laid out as a new open space by the former Greater London Council and transferred to the City of Westminster.
