Building Control fees:

Important Note

New VAT rate: from Monday 01 December 2008, the VAT rate changes from 17.5% to 15%. Please ensure that the amount you submit reflects this change. Changes to our fee schedules will be uploaded shortly. In the meantime, if you would like advice about the exact fee, please contact us on 0207 641 7230.

New Building Regulation fee charges were introduced on 1st April 2006, and new London Building Act fee charges were introduced on 1st May 2006. Please check that you are using the correct fee table. If you are in need of assistance please contact our admin office on 0207 641 7230.

London Building Acts Fee Charges

In accordance with the Council's powers under Section 3 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1982 to make charges, the following charges are made for consents/approvals issued under the London Building Acts (Amendment) Act. 1939.

The fee depends on the type of application you are making, and is shown in the table below. You must pay the fee when you send us your application. There is a 50% surcharge for Section 20 applications where we are not carrying out inspection of the related Building Regulations application (i.e. an approved inspector is).
