The Low Carbon Zone is a pilot project funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Westminster City Council. It is one of 10 pilot zones in London.
The Low Carbon Zone aims to reduce the carbon footprint of the Queen's Park neighbourhood by 20% by 2012, and 60% by 2025. It will do this by working with local community groups, residents and utilities in a bid to reduce energy use and carbon emissions. The initative will not only reduce fuel bills, but will also help create jobs and investment in the Queen's Park area.

The Zone includes the Mozart Estate, Avenue Gardens Estate and parts of the Queens Park Estate (between Marne Street, Third Avenue and Fifth Avenue). There are around 1,300 homes within the Zone. Although the Zone is quite small, many of the projects and offers running within the Zone will also apply to the wider area.
