Retrofitting Historic Buildings

Earlier this year the City Council consulted on a draft guide to retrofitting historic buildings. An updated version is expected in the autumn of 2011. It will highlight the different permissions and consents necessary for different energy efficiency and low and zero carbon measures in conservation areas, for listed buildings, and for outside conservation areas.

The aim is to encourage a bolder approach to retrofitting buildings, and to integrate sustainability and conservation.
