CITY

As home to the UK government, the City of Westminster has a large number of buildings owned and operated by various government departments and similar agencies. These buildings have significant energy requirements as they are often large and listed buildings, or in conservation areas.

Current energy efficiency targets for government departments are only reported on a national scale, therefore we are working with a group of government departments and other public sector bodies to develop specific energy efficiency targets for buildings in Westminster. This will then inform subsequent carbon reduction initiatives developed by the group, encouraging local energy and facilities managers to share experience and best practice, visit each others buildings and strive to outperform their peers and neighbours.

The WCA provides support to the group by bringing in speakers and presentations to help members develop and implement their own energy efficiency and carbon reduction measures.

If you are a public agency who is interested in joining or finding out more about this sub-group, please  contact us.
