Rice
The bacteria, Bacillus Cereus is a common cause of food poisoning in rice. The bacteria can form spores which can survive the normal cooking process of rice. Food poisoning occurs when the cooked rice is not cooled quickly and refrigerated, allowing the bacteria in the rice to grow and produce chemicals which cause food poisoning. Once the chemical is produced by the bacteria, re-heating the rice is of little use because the chemical is very heat-resistant.
