Ice Packs

Ice packs are an insulated bag or cool box which keeps chilled and frozen foods cool when shopping.

Use enough ice packs to keep cool bags really cool.

If distributing chilled foods or having a barbecue/picnic ice packs can keep meats, salads and other perishable foods cool in the fridge or in a cool bag until just before they are ready to cook or to be eaten.

It is important to use separate cool bags for raw meats and cooked/ready-to-eat foods. Cool bags can only keep food cool for a limited period so cook or consume sooner rather than later.
