Applications for the 2010/11 Academic Year

New students who are entering Higher Education in the 2010/11 academic year or who are applying for funding in 2010/11 for a course they started in 2009/10 will not be processed by Westminster City Council and should apply directly to Student Finance England.

Students continuing in Higher Education who started their course before 2009/10 will remain the responsibility of Westminster City Council.

Financial support for higher education students who started their course before 2009/10 and continuing their studies in 2010/11

If you are continuing a course of higher education in the academic year 2010/11, there is a range of financial support available to help with the costs of study. For example:

• A Maintenance Loan up to a maximum, depending on personal eligibility, of £6,643 to meet living costs while at university 
• A Tuition Fee Loan of up to £3,290 to cover the cost of course fees
• A Maintenance Grant of up to £2,906, which you don't have to repay
• Supplementary Grants including the Childcare Grant
• Disabled Students Allowance

How do I apply?

You can:

• Apply online
• Download an application form and return it to Westminster City Council
• Ask for an application form from the Student and Pupil Support office. See details below. Please note that we only hold forms for returning students.

Students are adviced to apply and provide all requested information by 21st May 2010 to ensure payment by the start of the new academic year.

Applications for the 2009/10 Academic Year

The deadline for students to apply for 2009/10 is 31st May 2010 where the start of the course was between September and December 2009.

Applications for the 2008/09 Academic Year can be made online or using the paper form which can be downloaded here.
