Summer Training Programme 2010

In Westminster all staff working with children are highly valued and your crucial role in improving outcomes for children and their families is paramount to our work in supporting your continuing professional development.

We are continually working to find better ways to support you in extending and developing your practice.  As a result you will find that most core training is now available from the Development and Training Unit, giving you access to greater training opportunies than before.

The Early Years team also continues to offer high quality training that is relevant and effective. This includes both repeated and new courses and specific first aid and safeguarding courses. 

We rely on your evaluations and welcome your views and ideas to inform our training offer for forthcoming terms.

A manual copy of the Summer Early Years training booklet and calendar has been posted to all children’s services.  The calendar is colour coded and divides into section to assist your teams in forward planning. There are courses for all Early Years practitioners working in group settings, nurseries or primary schools in any sector.  In addition there are specific courses for:

• Early Years Practitioners working in Reception Classes in primary schools
• Childrens Centre Staff
• Childminders 
• Early Years practitioners working with Children who have Special Educational Needs 
• Forums for:
  
  -  Managers working in Private and Voluntary settings
  
  -  Early Years Leads in Independent Schools
  
  -  Early Years Foundation Stage Coordinators.
