Westminster’s Children’s Trust is a partnership which brings together the organisations responsible for services for children, young people and their families in a shared commitment to improving children's lives.
The Children’s Trust is not a separate organisation. Children’s Trusts are the government’s preferred model of working together to provide joined-up services for children, young people and their families. To ensure partners are working well together we have a Children’s Trust Board which meets regularly.
The Children’s Trust Board provides the structure and framework to enable the agencies involved in delivering the Every Child Matters agenda to fulfil the requirements of the Children Act 2004 and implement the Children and Young People’s Plan. It brings together representatives from the key organisations working for children and young people in the Borough.
This includes Children’s Services, schools, housing, commissioners and providers of health services, the metropolitan police as well as community and voluntary organisations. These agencies need to jointly plan, commission and monitor services and outcomes for children in Westminster.
Children’s Services organises the meeting and produces the minutes.
