Westminster maintains one of the largest directly provided local authority adult education services in England through Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES).
WAES currently operates from three main centres and offers more than 1100 courses in the following areas;
WAES works in partnership with the voluntary community sector and statutory agencies to offer learning at over 50 sites across Westminster to ensure all members of the Westminster community have access to learning.
WAES also offers a specially designed programme for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Courses include art, drama, music, preparing for work, computers, basic skills, keeping fit and skills for everyday life.
All courses are part-time, from beginner to advanced level, with teaching taking place during the day, evening and on the weekend. A wide range of advice and support is available for learners with dedicated career and welfare advisors available on site.
Westminster Business Solutions (WBS) is the business development division of WAES and was set up to offer high quality workplace training for organisations across all sectors in Westminster and the greater London area.
