This summer has shown what can be achieved by volunteers. More than 70,000 volunteers helped to make London 2012 the most successful event ever to be held in the UK.

Older people's volunteering

Older people have a lot to offer as volunteers, and a lot to gain. The VCW is currently trying to recruit more older and retired volunteers - have a look at the information on their website and get in touch with them.

Alternatively, contact Age Concern Westminster who also offer a range of volunteering experiences.

Sports volunteering

The Olympics come to London next year. What better time to sign up to become a sports volunteer? Westminster has a huge amount of sports clubs, many of whom use volunteer coaches provided by the VCW. And if coaching's not your thing, why not have a go at score-keeping, driving minibuses or even becoming a referee?!
