An introduction to the publication scheme

What is a Publication Scheme?

Publication Schemes are a legal requirement under Sections 19 and 20 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI). They are meant to promote greater openness in local and central government.

The purpose of the Westminster Council Publication Scheme is to act as a guide to the information that has or will been published.

How does the scheme work?

The classes of information that the Council publish are shown in the publication scheme below. In addition, we have organised our information to provide a logical directory. You will find publications or references to documents are grouped under the following categories:

  • Advice, Benefits and Emergencies
  • Business
  • Community, People and Living
  • Council and Democracy
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Housing
  • Jobs and Careers
  • Leisure
  • News
  • Social Care
  • Transport and Streets

You will find further categories beneath each of these areas with a list of the documents published in that category.
