Built Environment, Business, Enterprise, and Skills

The Built Environment, Business, Enterprise, and Skills Policy and Scrutiny Committee is responsible for scrutinising the wide range of council services and projects from the portfolios of the Cabinet Member for Built Environment and the Cabinet Member for Business, Enterprise and Skills.

The Built Environment portfolio includes key services and programmes such as planning, building control, public art, and the council’s environmental agenda.

The Business, Enterprise, and Skills portfolio includes many programmes and policies including:

  • City Recovery Programme
  • Business Improvement Districts
  • Licensing policy and enforcement
  • Trading standards
  • Adult Education
  • Tourism
  • Markets and Civic Streets

The Chairman of the Committee is Councillor Angela Harvey.
