2011 Census
The 2011 Census; help tomorrow take shape
Every ten years a census takes place to count the population. The census is run by the Office for National Statistics and the results are used to share out funding and resources for all sorts of services and facilities in Westminster.
Like all local authorities, Westminster City Council relies on the census to identify the services we need to provide. The money we receive from central government to provide services is directly related to how many and what kind of people fill in the census. So even if the census were to end up just a few households short, it could make a very real difference to people’s lives.
