How much does it cost to get married?
Giving Notice of Intention to marry
The statutory fee for giving legal notice of intended marriage is £33.50 for each notice. Two notices are required.
The ceremony
The fees at The Old Marylebone Town Hall start from £115.00. See our room fees here.
Approved Venue
If you are getting married in an Approved Venue the fee for getting married is different in each local authority and you need to contact the office for the district in which the venue is situated to establish the correct fee. Fees for approved venues in Westminster can be found here.
Religious building
If you plan to marry in a religious building where a Registrar attends, the statutory fee is £83.50.
Register Office
If you are getting married in a Register Office you need to contact the Register Office where you would like to get married to find out the fees.
Certificates
A marriage certificate is issued free on the day of the civil ceremony. Additional certificates vary in price depending on when they are requested. See our fees here.
