You have already been using the resources of the Family Records Centre. You have a reference quoting one of the following registration districts:

• City of Westminster
• Kensington
• Paddington
• St George Hanover Square
• St James
• St Martin
• St Marylebone
• Westminster

Westminster Register Office regrets that we are unable to supply certificates of birth, death or marriage when the application quotes only the Family Record Centre reference, unless this is for 1978 or later. This is due to the different method of preparation between the Family Records Index and of the local register office index. Unless you are able to quote the exact date and street address of event/s sought we can not assist.

If you have a Family Records Index reference we suggest that application be made direct with the General Register Office (GRO):

• Online via the General Register Office website.  This is the quickest method of applying from GRO
• By post to GRO, PO Box 2, Southport, Merseyside, PR8 2JD
• By telephone on 0300 123 1837 (option 1) if you have a credit or debit card
