My Community Map

Earlier this year Westminster City Council in partnership with Volunteer Centre Westminster and Voluntary Action Westminster launched the My Community Map.  This map is designed to match potential volunteers across Westminster with local volunteering opportunities.  The map already has over 50 local volunteering opportunities plotted and is matching local volunteers.

If you’re a volunteer looking for the perfect volunteering opportunity, use the search function to find an ideal match. Likewise, organisations looking for volunteers can register and add as many opportunities as they like across Westminster.

To find out more about the map and how to register please visit www.mycommunitymap.co.uk

Employer-support community contribution

Westminster City Council encourages its staff to make a hands-on contribution to the local community through its employer-supported community contribution scheme. The Council’s policy allows staff, subject to their manager’s agreement, to request time within their usual working hours to complete up to 16 hours of community contribution activities a year. Staff have been involved a range of activities from gardening to reading volunteers in schools to assisting at an older people’s breakfast club.
