Residents
I’ve just received a letter from a filming company notifying me that they will be filming on my street, what can I do?
If you are happy to allow the filming to go ahead, then you don’t need to do anything. If you have any questions, you can contact the film-maker (who should have included contact details on the letter) and let him know directly. If you do not want the filming to go ahead, write to the production company and formally notify them of your objection. If you do not receive a response from the production company, please notify us at speciale@westminster.gov.uk.
I’ve just received a letter from an events company notifying me that there will be an event on my street, what can I do?
If you are happy to allow the event to go ahead, then you don’t need to do anything. If you have any questions, you can contact the event organiser (who should have included contact details on the letter) and let him know directly. If you do not want the event to go ahead, write to the event organiser and formally notify him of your objection. A film crew has suspended the parking in my street, what can I do?
There should be a Location Manager on site that you can speak to, if the Location Manager is unavailable you can contact us on 020 7641 2390 (9.00-17.00) or call the out of hours Parking line Parktel on 0207 823 4567 (select Option 2).
A film crew has blocked access to my street, what can I do?
The crew should have notified you of any blocks to access. There should be a Location Manager on site that you can speak to, if the Location Manager is unavailable you can contact us on 020 7641 2390 (9.00-17.00) or call the out of hours Parking line Parktel on 0207 823 4567 (select Option 2).
I am disabled and cannot get to my destination because the pavement is being obstructed, what can I do?
Any event or film shoot that takes place on the public highway should provide access for any disabled member of the public. Ask to speak to the event organiser or Location Manager, and if you require further assistance, call the Special Events Group on 020 7641 2390 (9.00-17.00) or call the Highways Problems helpline on 020 7641 2000.
An event is being held on our street and I was not notified, what can I do?
You can ask to speak to the event organiser. If he or she is unavailable and you still need to speak to someone, call the Special Events Group on 020 7641 2390 (9.00-17.00) or call the Highways Problems helpline on 020 7641 2000.
Businesses

If you are happy to allow the event to go ahead, then you can contact the organiser (who should have included contact details on the letter) and let him know directly. If you do not want the event to go ahead, write to the organiser and formally notify them of your objection. If you do not receive a response from the organiser, please notify us at speciale@westminster.gov.uk. You can also request that the organiser compensates you if you need to close or reduce your business to accommodate the event.
I’ve just received a letter consulting me on an event that I strongly oppose, what can I do?
You should write to the event organiser (who should be named on the letter) outlining your objection and the reasons for it . If you are unsatisfied with the response you receive, you can contact the Special Events Group Officer supporting the event (who should also be named in the consultation letter) and register your objection. If you do not know the name of the Officer supporting the event, e-mail speciale@westminster.gov.uk.
I’ve just come to work and my parking has been suspended, what can I do?
There should be a Location Manager or Event Organiser on site that you can speak to, if they are unavailable you can contact us on 020 7641 2390 (9.00-17.00) or call the out of hours Parking line Parktel on 0207 823 4567 (select Option 2).
An event is being held in front of my business and I was not notified, what can I do?
You can ask to speak to the event organiser. If he or she is unavailable and you still need to speak to someone, call the Special Events Group on 020 7641 2390 (9.00-17.00) or call the Highways Problems helpline on 020 7641 2000 if the access to your business is being blocked.
A film shoot is being held and the noise is disturbing my customers, what can I do?
There should be a Location Manager on site who you can speak to. You can also call the Environmental Action Line on 020 7641 2000 to report the noise, but you should speak to the film crew first, as most problems can be resolved without the Council’s involvement.
