Performing Animals Registrations
Licence summary
If you exhibit, use or train performing animals, in the City of Westminster, you must be registered with the Licensing Authority under the provisions of the Performing Animals (Regulations) Act 1925.
Applications must contain details about the animals and the performances they are to take part in. Applications must be accompanied by the correct fee. The fees list contains the current fee payable for each application type.
Eligibility Criteria
An applicant must not have been given a court order preventing them from training, exhibiting a wild animal or from holding a registration.
It should be noted that performing animals does not include invertebrate animals – i.e. animals with either exterior skeletons (insects) or no skeletons (Jelly-fish, etc).

If you have not heard from the Licensing Authority within a reasonable period, please contact us. You can do this online if you applied through the UK Welcomes service or use the contact details below.

A public register is available to view at the Council's Offices during normal office hours. To make an appointment to view the register please contact the Licensing Service on 020 7641 8548 or alterntively email generallicensing@westminster.gov.uk.

Consumer Complaint

A police officer or officer of the City of Westminster may make a complaint to the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court if they feel that animals have been subject to cruelty.
