An innovative approach to mental health services that aims to identify the signs of dementia early and help people stay in their homes for longer will be launched in London today (Thursday, 25 February).

The 'Westminster Memory Service' will provide early diagnosis for residents with memory problems, enabling them to live more independently and make informed decisions about their future care.

Westminster Council will freeze council tax for the next three years to help hard-pressed taxpayers through the tough economic climate, it was announced today (23 Feb).

Despite the recession and a shortfall in funding from central Government, the freeze means residents in a band D property will this year continue to pay £687.62 - the same level as in 2009/10 and the second lowest council tax rate in the country.
