Westminster City Council has paid tribute to London's town crier Peter Moore who passed away on December 20th.
Mr Moore, 70, was bestowed with the title of Westminster's official town crier in 2005, although he had represented the council, the Greater London Authority and several other London boroughs for more than three decades.

The Lord Mayor of Westminster's first 'Toy Drive' has brought a smile to dozens of children who will be spending Christmas in hospital this year.
The Lady Mayoress, who comes from the USA, imported the American tradition of community toy donations for deprived children, and the new toy drive saw employees and councillors donating brand new toys to children at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

Motorists coming into central London are being urged to check parking controls over the holiday season to ensure they avoid getting a parking ticket.
This year motorists can park for free in Westminster on Monday December 28th, the official bank holiday, but as Boxing Day falls on a Saturday and is not classed as an official holiday controls will remain the same and motorists will need to pay to park.

A specialist counselling centre set to help some of Westminster's most vulnerable residents back into work, training or education has been proposed for the south of Westminster, council bosses have announced.
The centre will offer appointment-based counselling, aftercare support and peer support groups for Westminster residents who have already undergone a successful programme of treatment for drug and alcohol issues.

More than 100 responses have been received by council bosses during a six-week long consultation on Westminster's plans to improve housing in the city.
During the consultation, residents, businesses and other key individuals and organisations were asked for their views on the council's proposals to improve neighbourhoods in Westminster.
