Jerry Springer to perform at world's largest free entertainment festival

West End LIVE, the world’s largest free entertainment festival, will return to the heart of London this summer for another fantastic showcase of the very best of the West End’s entertainment.

Highlights will include performances by talk-show host Jerry Springer in his debut West End role as razzmatazz lawyer Billy Flynn in the hit show Chicago and the BBC’s I’d Do Anything winner Jodie Prenger, who will perform as Nancy in the classic show Oliver!

Former US President Ronald Reagan is set to be honoured with a statue in central London after Westminster City Council last night (Thursday 21 May) granted planning permission for one to be erected outside the US Embassy.

In order to allow the statue to go ahead the council exempted the 40th US President from its standard policy of only allowing memorials to people who have been dead for ten or more years.

Disadvantaged children to get financial help for after school activities

More than 1,500 disadvantaged children from Queen's Park, Westbourne and Harrow Road are to get financial help to ensure they can access after school activities.

Westminster Council has been awarded more than £100,000 to help young people in the three of the most deprived wards in the city.

Westminster City Council's BSF programme enters second phase

Westminster City Council's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme is set to enter its second phase.

Design and build contracts worth £32 million for work at St Augustine's CE and St George's RC Schools were signed on Friday (May 22nd), with contracts for The Grey Coat Hospital set to be finalised in June.
