Victoria Business Team

Victoria Business Transport Area

Your area
Victoria is one of the most important civil, transportation, tourism, residential and economic hubs in London. It is a major centre of office and retail employment as well as the home of London’s busiest transport interchange at Victoria station, with an annual flow of 115million passengers, and the UK’s only international coach station.

There are major redevelopment and transport projects underway as well as new proposals, both national and local, being made for the area. The emerging Victoria Transport Interchange (VTI) Scheme; Victoria Station Upgrade and Victoria Mainline Station proposals together make up the largest development area within Westminster in recent years.

Please follow the link for more information on the Victoria re-developments.http://www.capitalcommitment.co.uk/site/vti.aspx

The mixed use and sheer numbers using this area poses unique crime and disorder problems. To address this Westminster Council and the Metropolitan Police have allocated a specific team to focus on and address crime and disorder in this area. The local police team, the Victoria Safer Business Team - 11 Police Officers and 4 Police Community Officers - aims to provide a dedicated and visible patrol service and focus on quality of life issues. The area covered includes the businesses either side of Buckingham Palace Road from the Coach Station to Victoria Station and Victoria Street to House of Fraser.

The team's current priorities are:
  • Tackling street drinking in the parks and open spaces
  • Reducing pick pocketing ·
  • Eliminating ticket touting round the Victoria coach and rail station
  • Reducing shoplifting
