Pimlico monthly reports

Regular projects
Each City Guardian within Pimlico takes personal responsibility for a project that aims to improve the quality of life of residents within the area. These projects include:

Diversionary Activities - Fitzroy encourages young people to become interested in sporting activities, other than football, as a diversionary activity. He targets young people who are involved in anti-social behaviour and signposts them to partner agencies.

Elderly - Celia works closely with Age Concern and the elderly people on the local estates. She visits them on a weekly basis and has set up coffee mornings, which encourages the elderly to leave their homes and discuss any concerns with each other, making them feel less isolated.

Anti-Social Behaviour - Adebowale is the link officer for Peabody Estate, attending meetings and responding to concerns on a regular basis. He is currently reviewing the diversionary activities available for young people and is working with partners to reduce the level of anti-social behaviour taking place on the estate.

Table Tennis - Taiwo works closely with the local youth clubs and holds a weekly table tennis session for older teens. He is also introducing another session for younger children as a diversionary activity.

Cultural Inclusion - Ziaul works closely with the Bangladeshi Society in promoting social inclusion in the area. He encourages people to attend language and citizenship classes, and also facilitates the men's only swimming club.

Environment - Andrew does a regular environmental audit of the area, particularly identifying unlicensed skips and builders who leave their building waste on pavements, causing an obstruction to passers by. He passes all the information gathered onto partner agencies for enforcement.
