How we performed 2007/08

Good government means being both transparent and accountable. With this in mind, we have produced our annual report 2007/08, outlining how we have performed and used our resources. Its purpose is not simply to proclaim our own achievements, but also to recognise the efforts of our partners in helping us meet the needs of the people we serve.

2007/08 has been another year of strong performance by Westminster City Council, measured both by our external audit assessments and the high level of satisfaction expressed by our residents and service users.

But we are not complacent. Our goal remains to deliver our One City vision of strong communities and excellent services, providing greater opportunities for residents, with a focus on improving schools, decent homes, excellent library and leisure facilities and high quality social services.

We will continue our drive to achieve excellence, in absolute terms, not simply in comparison to other local authorities. We will also continue to strive for efficiency savings, whilst delivering better and faster services, that define the Westminster standard of excellence.
