Information at your fingertips

Finding the answers to yours questions can sometimes be a problem. Where do you start? The best place to go is your local library, where staff will be pleased to help you.

Information on a huge range of topics is available at all libraries in Westminster. Whatever you need to know, our libraries offer a powerful information resource ready for you to use.

Our main reference and information services are based at Marylebone Information Service and Westminster Reference Library. As well as general reference enquiries, these services can help with research in a number of specialist subjects.

All our libraries have a selection of:

  • encyclopaedias, directories and dictionaries
  • newspapers and magazines
  • information about Westminster Council and local and national organisations

If you are a library member, you can use the Internet at all our libraries. You can also access the Library Catalogue and Community Information Database through the e-Library.
There are free phones at all libraries from which you can ring any department in the Council, at no cost, to make an enquiry.

Community Information Database

The Community Information Database on each library computer is constantly updated, giving you access to up-to-the-minute details of a huge range of local organisations and services. You can find information on:

  • Advice centres
  • Sports facilities
  • Clubs and societies
  • Community groups
  • Council services
  • Halls and rooms for hire
  • ... and much more

Go to the Community Information Database through the e-Library.
