How do I join?

Adults

Anyone 16 years old or above can join as an adult as long as they can show proof of their current name and permanent address (ie: likely to live at that address for at least six months).

Anyone living in short term accommodation can apply for either short stay membership or a deposit membership - ask in any library for further details.

The following documents/cards are acceptable as proof:

• Recent utilities bill (last six months)
• Rent/child benefit/pension book
• Current driving licence
• Bank/credit card statement (last six months)
• Building society book

Children aged 5 and under

A parent, guardian or carer must complete the form for the child and sign the form for them.

Children and young people aged 6 to 15

Children and young people aged 6 to 15 must get a parent or carer to sign the form to confirm the details. They must also have one of the following:

• A parent/guardian/carer/teacher with them to confirm the signature and address on the application form
• Proof of their parent's or guardian's name and address (ie: anything listed under 'Adults' above)
• The application form stamped by their school confirming the details
