Instrumental and choral workshops 20, 21 & 28 October 2008.
This autumn, we invited participants of all ages and musical abilities to take part in an exciting project with some of the UK’s finest musicians. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Westminster Music Library, and the 50th anniversary of the death of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, who opened the Library in 1948, we held a series of music workshops in the library.
During these 4 workshops, participants devised new pieces, explored new repertoire and all with the support of musicians from the world famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO).
At the heart of these workshops was creativity and excellence, using materials held in Westminster Music Library as inspiration to create an original work. The end result was then be performed in the main library, giving participants the opportunity to perform to friends, family and the public.
